Thus says the LORD: In a time of favor I have answered you, on a day of salvation I have helped you;
I have kept you and given you as a covenant to the people, to establish the land, to apportion the desolate heritages…(Isaiah 49:8)
MASSES
As Christians, we ought to show concern not only for the spiritual, but also for the physical health of our neighbors. Here at Queen of Heaven Church, we do our best to adhere to the precautionary measures, set in place by health experts: wearing facemasks, washing/disinfecting hands, keeping safe distances, staying home whenever possible...! Please, follow all health advice and precautionary measures to prevent the spreading of the virus! This is a work of mercy! Thank you for your understanding, and may God bless you and keep you, your families and loved ones!
The church will be open on weekdays for private prayer from about 7:15am thru 4:30PM, except on those days where Mass is scheduled in the afternoon.
However, following public health orders, our parish will continue with the full Mass schedule, employing a "hybrid-model": Mass will be celebrated inside the church, with limited seating available and all the safety measures, plus, Mass is transmitted from the church via FM radio into the parking lot. Please tune your car radio to channel 87.9FM.
Please, be kind and respectful to our ushers who are volunteering to serve God and us and make the orlderly celebration of Mass possible. Thank them and our cleaners and pray to God for them!
Even though Archbishop Wester has left the dispensation from Sunday Obligation in place for now and has encouraged those over sixty years old and those of weakened immune systems or with underlying health problems not to come, it DOES NOT MEAN you cannot come. Any one is able to come, and must make their own prudent choices, while seeking to safeguard others. That means if you are sick, you should not come. Some food for thought: even if the dispensation from Sunday obligation is still in place, that does not dispense you from following God's commandment to "keep the Sabbath holy", no? How do you or should you spend your Sundays/Holy Days?
Confession is available during regular times. Please use the EASTSIDE side entrance of the church, and make use of the hand sanitizer!
The parish office is open for calling in (505-881 1772) & for appointments. Our secretaries will respond to voice mails. In after hour emergencies, you can also try to call the parish emergency number 505-872 0382. Beginning with Tuesday, April 13, we will try to open the parish office for in-person visits again. Check for updates.
TITHING
Those who have not fallen into a financial predicament due to this current crisis or otherwise, our tithing remains an act of sacrifice and worship offered to God. Online giving is the easiest way during this time, and work of God is suitably sustained. It is available to all who have internet access. Contributions can be set up weekly, biweekly, monthy, or done on a one time basis either with a credit card or through your bank account. Your weekly regular tithing can be dropped off with the ushers when you enter the vestibule of the church on Saturdays/Sundays, or they can be mailed in or dropped off through the mail slot on the office door.
