I lift up my eyes to the hills—from where will my help come? My help comes from the LORD, who made heaven and earth. (Psalm 121:1-2)
The “Christmas to Easter Raffle”… …has come to a close! Thank you and God bless all who participated in this raffle, in whatever capacity:
Those who bought tickets…
Those who sold tickets, after Mass or among their friends and relatives…
Those who prepared the get-together this last Saturday at the parish hall for the drawing...
We’ve notified the three lucky winners. And, yes, as I mentioned last Sunday to all of us who did NOT win: I firmly believe that God still loves us! And he may be giving a chance to practice to NOT give in to jealousy, envy, and covetousness…
We sold 652 tickets. That equals $65,200. So, minus the $25,000 in prize money, that leaves $40,200 for the roof fund. Now, see the calculation below: Roof Replacement & Repair Fund Total amount in Roof Fund: $180,906.71 That includes the raffle proceeds. Starting amount in roof fund $73,318.16. You’ve raised as of April 19, 2023… …thru roof fund envelopes, since Feb 26, 22 $67,388.55 …plus the roof raffle proceeds + $40,200.00 Total raised $107,588.55 Expected challenge grant: $53,794.27
The Catholic Extension Society decided to give us up to $60,000, if we can raise an additional $120,000 between February 26, 2022, and June 30, 2023 – or if we need a bit more time… The ratio is, for every $2 raised, we would get $1 from Extension… That means, we have a bit more time to raise about $12,500 more, if we wanted to make the $60,000. Do you think we can make it? God bless you all! Fr. Simeon

STEWARDSHIP: Collections
About 60% of all registered Catholics contribute to the financial need of their parish, at least somewhat… If parishioners donate cash, the majority put in between $1 and $5 per week; in checks, it is mostly between $10 and $20 weekly. Now, we have about 1,100 registered parishioners. Imagine if everyone would just give (at least) 2 dollars a day to the parish… If you can afford it, please, DO NOT stop to sacrifice more!!! So, please do continue to support your parish – with your regular collection contributions, which keep the parish operating, and with donations for our roof replacement and repair projects! See also the donation link on the parish website www.qofhabq.com

Queen of Heaven Prayer
During the Easter Season, the Queen of Heaven/Regina Coeli Prayer is said in place of the Angel of Lord/Angelus Prayer, three time a day, morning, midday, evening: V. Queen of Heaven, rejoice, alleluia. R. For he, whom you did merit to bear, alleluia. V. Has risen as he said, alleluia. R. Pray for us to God, alleluia. V. Rejoice and be glad, O Virgin Mary, alleluia. R. For the Lord is truly risen, alleluia.
Let us pray: O God, who gave joy to the world through the resurrection of thy Son, our Lord Jesus Christ, grant we beseech thee, that through the intercession of the Virgin Mary, his Mother, we may obtain the joys of everlasting life. Through the same Christ our Lord. Amen.
V. Regina coeli, laetare, alleluia. R. Quia quem meruisti portare, alleluia. V. Resurrexit sicut dixit, alleluia. Amen.
The Angelus (“The Angel”)-prayer traditionally is said 3 times a day: morning, midday, and evening.
THE ANGELUS PRAYER V - The Angel of the Lord declared unto Mary. R - And she conceived by the Holy Spirit. Together: Hail Mary, full of grace, the Lord is with thee. Blessed art thou among women, and blessed is the fruit of thy womb, Jesus. Holy Mary, Mother of God, pray for us sinners, now and at the hour of our death. Amen. V - Behold, the handmaid of the Lord. R - Be it done unto me according to thy word. Together: -Hail Mary... V - And the Word was made Flesh. (All bow/make the since of the cross...) R - And dwelt among us. Together: - Hail Mary... V - Pray for us, O Holy Mother of God. R - That we may be made worthy of the promises of Christ. Let us pray: (Prayer leader, or: together) Pour forth, we beseech thee, O Lord, thy grace into our hearts; that we to whom the Incarnation of Christ, Thy Son, was made known by the message of an Angel, may by His Passion and Cross, be brought to the glory of His resurrection. Through the same Christ, our Lord. Amen.
